World Mental Health Day is observed every year on 10th October to raise awareness about mental well being which is a neglected aspect of holistic health. In light of the increasing burden and strain associated with India’s work culture, it is critical to make sure individuals are attending to both their physical and mental health.”

Mr Rajesh Shukla, Chief Strategist, National Intellectual Advisory, Mentor at Venture Studio Capital, Jagoo Nari and Padhega Bharat shares five mental health tips such as:

  • Meditation: Practicing deep breathing techniques and meditation might help people feel more grounded and less anxious. 
  • Frequent exercise: engaging in regular physical activity helps lower stress and release endorphins. 
  • Maintain relationships with loved ones: Maintaining relationships with friends and family gives people a sense of social support that promotes their emotional wellbeing. Surrounding yourself with positive people helps improve mental health. One can join communities like religious or social groups increases social support and helps increase sense of purpose.
  • Adequate sleep: Ensuring proper sleep routines helps recharge your mind and body.
  • Engage in hobbies and fun activities and helping people: Keeping engaged in hobbies helps release dopamine, keeping anxiety and stress at bay and helping people boost their mental health. Additionally, helping others can help release oxytocin, also known as the bonding hormone.
